APR's ECU tuning program for the Volkswagen 2.0T TSI engine is designed to operate within the OEM and Tier 1 Supplier specifications for engine component stress tolerances and performance specifications. The APR ECU upgrade typically raises the power output of the 2.0T to 250 horsepower and 294 lb-ft of torque on 91 octane fuel with gains of 57 horsepower at lower RPM's! Expect improved throttle response and a smoother, more powerful top end with no loss of drivability or reliability. The ECU must be removed from 2010+ vehicles for programming which incurs an additional installation fee of $95. No soldering is required.

APR software is available with up to four Operating Modes as well as Extra Features at an additional cost*. APR's Flipswitch technology allows switching of Operating Modes or activation of Extra Features in seconds using the cruise control stalk with no need to purchase external hardware.

Extra Features:

Fault Code Erase (FCE): Allows reset of engine related fault codes without needing a specialty tool.
Throttle Body Alignment (TBA): Allows you to manually perform throttle-body adaptation.

One Operating Mode is included with the purchase price. Adding a second Operating Mode adds $149, the third and fourth Operating Modes are an additional $79-ea. FCE and TBA Extra Features are bundled together for an additional $59. Certain ECU's are limited in memory capacity to a single Operating Mode only.

Well worth the money.

The APR stage 1 tune completely transformed my 08 GTI.

Peak numbers are obviously higher, but the real benefit is the huge increase in low to mid range torque which dramatically increases “area under the curve” for easily accessible power.

If you have a MKV and don't have this then you're missing out!
